How Buildy Works

This page gives you the mental model for working effectively with Buildy.

Chat becomes app

You describe what you want in plain English – no code, no drag-and-drop fiddling. Buildy translates intent into pages, components, data models, and integrations. It remembers conversation context within session.

Seeing your app live

Buildy has live view of your project's current pages, layouts, styles, and data entities. When you ask to change hero text, it updates that file directly and refreshes preview.

Using your existing content

Paste a link to site you admire – Buildy can read its structure, tone, and section ordering to inspire layout. Upload files like PDFs, screenshots, logos – Buildy extracts text, colors, ideas.

Lists and memory

Forms you add automatically create Lists to store submissions. For example, Waitlist form → Leads list with email, name, source. View in Manage → Data, export, or connect to follow-up automation.

Smart helpers

Chatbots and voice agents are features you add to same app. Once created, you ask Buildy to place them: Add text agent as floating bubble on pricing page. They share same data lists.

Safety nets

Every major edit creates a checkpoint. If something breaks, say in chat: Roll back to 20 minutes ago. Publish is deliberate – working version vs live version separation means you can experiment without affecting visitors.
